In the town centre Blackpool Tower and Circus, icon of England dominates the skyline, offering 518 feet of entertainment for the whole family. Jungle Jims, Towering Adventure land is the result of a £3million investment. Two huge Inca gods guard the gateway to the Lost City, which houses a variety of exciting tasks for children to complete in the hunt for buried treasure. The amazing play area complete with three giant ships that are available for party hire means that birthday boys and girls can treat their friends to a party like no other they will ever have experienced as they take over a ship with complete with themed characters . The circus arena, a theatre in the round with gold gilt ceilings and a seating capacity for up to 1400 guests.

Home to the award winning Tower Circus, voted the UK’s best for 4 years running and it’s amazing water finale with over 40,000 gallons of water filling the arena every show. It is a truly breathtaking and unique venue.

The pier has free family friendly entertainments in the carousel family bar with DJs and entertainers who'll keep everyone entertained was singing, dancing, karaoke, games and much more.

You might even see Chipper the squirrel who will teach you is famous dance routine!

The Merrie England Show Bar is at the front of the pier and has amazing shows and entertainers including the best Blues Bros show in the world, the best of the 60s with the Kasuals, party DJs Joe Collins and Aldini and not forgetting the North Pier’s very own fantastique show every Friday with a host of singers to keep you dancing and singing along all night long! Of course for adults there is the legendary Joey Blower, Blackpool's King of comedy every Saturday and Sunday with DJs and entertainers to keep you entertained all weekend long!

2012 also had a great season of shows in North Pier Theatre featuring live music from the best of British 60s bands and solo artists; modern singers and dancers; new and innovative variety entertainers; and return of summer panto!

This great ticket prices from just £10 for adults and nine have children with free child seats available as well, North Pier Theatre will be the place to see the best in live entertainment this year including the magical, mysterious magnificence of Cirque du Ciel with ShanghI from the Director of Cirque du Soleil’s Ka and Dralion NSPCC Concert and with stars from X Factor and Britain’s got Talent.

Summer season will see Peter Pan a fully staged summer musical pantomime all the family (Wednesdays 25th of July 29 of August); The Rag Doll’s, Jersey Boy show featuring all the shows you will love from Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (Thursdays 26 July to 30th of August); dream concert live show paying tribute to the best pop music around with songs and dances from one direction, Jesse J, Pixie Lott, the wanted, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and many more (Fridays 27th of July to the 31st August): Lee rocks! Pays tribute to the blockbuster TV series and celebrate the fantastic music from the show with music from Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and more (Fridays 27^th July to 31^st August).

Let the good Times roll is a wonderful and unique, live ten piece production  that pays a memorable tribute to some of the greatest and deeply adored music of the 50s and 60s Shows from Saturday 28^th July to 1^st September 2012.

JunK winners of Sky One’s talent show ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ are four blokes who will entertain, astonish and have you in stiches as they take you on a journey their world of Rubbish with song, dance and comedy. On Sundays 29^th July – 2^nd September.

Cavern Club Revisited back to the 60’s is an original and exclusive North Pier Production which will see The Merseybeats, Brain Poole, Chip Hawkes ( both from the Tremeloes and Class of 64), and Alan Lovell and the Swinging Blue Jeans all take to the Stage to perform in one evening. On  Mondays 30^th July – 3^rd September.

North Pier will also be hosting Pride on the Pier festival in June and the New Birdman event very like the annual one held in Bognor Regis in August.

North Pier Blackpool was opened on 23 May 1863. It was designed by had been built under the supervision of Eugenius Birch – civil engineer of London. The first column of the pier was fixed in May 1862, but the progress of the works was hindered by stormy weather. The pier is constructed almost entirely of iron, the only woodwork being that use the deck and Fender piles at the head. Once completed the Pier had a total length of over 1400 feet and was accessible directly from the promenade. The entire superstructure rests upon clusters of iron piles vertically fixed into the ground by means of screws. This was very much the Victorian way of building Piers.

The chief distinctive feature of the pier at the time of its construction and indeed is to this day is the elegance of its appearance in the traditional Victorian Style and various owners over the years have strived to keep it in the same style.

Modern Attractions on the pier include the Theatre shows as mentioned in this article, the Carousel family Bar (they welcome children) which offers great views over the Irish Sea, an extensive family menu for eats and free evening entertainment in High Season. Outside the venue is the largest beer garden in Blackpool, an arcade to keep the kids amused and a fabulous ornate 2 tier Victorian Carousel Ride. Or visitors can simply relax in an old fashioned deck chair and watch the sun go down  into the Irish Sea.

At the pier entrance is the Merrie England Showbar which is an adult’s only venue and is the favourite haunt of the stag and hen parties which come to Blackpool. Host Joey Blower presents his outrageously funny show every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Alongside the Theatre at the seaward end of the pier is the Victorian Tea Rooms. Complete with flickering bulbs, antique table decorations and walls decked out in pictures describing the history of Blackpool and this pier. The tea rooms are bound to be as much a favourite in the 2012 season as they were last year.
